Youth Choir Mato Bučar Petrinja was founded in June 2014. The choir gathers together young singers from Petrinja, aged 15 to 30, and its main goal is to popularize choir singing among the Petrinja youth. The Ministry of Science, Education and Sport awarded the choir for successful work and admirable results with the "Oskar znanja" award in 2015 and 2016. The choir won two silver plaques at the 58th and 59th Musical festivities of the Croatian youth in Varaždin ( 2015 and 2016 respectively). At the first international choir competition Croatia Cantat, held in Osijek in 2016, the choir received a gold plaque in the folklore choir music category and a silver one in the classical choir music category. At Music festival Zagreb 2016. Youth Choir Mato Bučar Petrinja won a silver plaque in the A category (obligatory repertoir). In the May of 2017. choir participated at Harmonie Festival in Lindenholzhausen (Germany) and was awarded with a bronze plaque in the traditional music category. In the October of 2018. the choir sang at an international choir singing competition in Ohrid (Macedonia) ''Ohrid choir festival'' and won a silver plaque as well as a special award for best interpreted composition by a Macedonian composer. Since 2016 the choir is conducted by Katarina Mandić, student of Zagreb Music Academy (organs, class of prof. Ljerka Očić).
